Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Fall is one of my favourite times of the year. I love laying on the couch, wrapped in a blanket and sipping hot chocolate. Add whipped cream and peppermint and I am in hot chocolate heaven.

Camino is one of my favourite brands of chocolate powder and chocolate bars. They are a Canadian brand of fair trade and organic food products owned by the Ottawa based La Siembra coop. I was given some Camino products at Blogcation so I decided to create a KickAss Peppermint Hot Chocolate to drink on a cold and rainy December night.

Peppermint hot chocolate

Directions:

1. Make hot chocolate as per instructions. I always use milk as I love a rich hot chocolate.

2.  I use a peppermint stir stick to add the peppermint flavour. You can also add a piece of peppermint flavoured chocolate to your mixture or peppermint candies.

3.  Lots of whipped topping. That adds an extra dose of indulgence.

4. Sprinkle shaved chocolate on top. I used a Camino Dark Chocolate Mint bar.

For an adult version, you can also add a shot of Kahlua Peppermint liqueur.

YUM!!!!

Do you like hot  chocolate? How do you like to customize your beverage?

    Hi Ann,

This is my first visit to your blog but when I saw this post title I had to check it out.

I LOVE hot chocolate and of course peppermint too. I bet that’s a great combination and I’m definitely going to be trying this one out. I have a hot chocolate mix already that I love so now I just need to add the peppermint flavor.

Thank you for sharing this one with us and I’ll be sure to share this post on social media as well.

    Have a great week.

I love camino hot chocolate, it’s my favourite one on the market. So much better than the regular sugar-loaded brands, I think. The Camino regular milk choc is good, but I love the dark one. I never thought of adding a peppermint stick, what a great idea!
My first visit here, love your blog!
